The 2024 Chevy Blazer SS will perfectly show how the automotive industry has changed in the last several decades. Originally known as a super-capable body-on-frame off-roader, the Blazer switched to a crossover layout a few years ago. Now, we are about to see another radical change, as the EV Blazer is on the way. The new model will feature a completely different design than the ICE counterpart, with a
dedicated EV platform. Moreover, a model with the SS badge will come first and it will be the most capable version in the lineup.
This version will be a high-performance variant of the new all-electric crossover and it will come with lots of exclusive features, not just an upgraded powertrain. Compared to the conventional, gasoline-powered model, it will bring all kinds of upgrades, including a far more appealing interior design.
We expect that the 2024 Chevy Blazer SS will arrive sometime in the next year.
2024 Chevy Blazer SS Drivetrain and Performance
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Chevy Blazer SS will be the first version of the all-electric Blazer to come. Moreover, it will also be the most capable and most expensive EV Blazer on offer. The core of this crossover will be a drivetrain setup that includes electric motors on both axles, with a total output of 557 horsepower. Chevy hasn’t announced performance figures yet but we have no doubt this model will be capable enough to compete with the Mustang Mach-E.
On the other hand, the latest reports suggest that this particular model will be able to make around 320 miles on a single charge, even though the officials didn’t come up with the battery capacity. What we know for sure is that the 2024 Chevy Blazer SS will feature GM’s new Ultium battery technology, which will ensure a charging speed of up to 190kW. That should be enough to provide 78 miles of range in 10 minutes.
2024 Chevy Blazer SS Design
When it comes to the overall design, the 2024 Chevy Blazer SS will be heavily based on the standard Blazer EV. That means that you may count on a design that doesn’t have much in common with the gasoline-powered model. The Blazer EV rides on a dedicated EV platform and besides the similar styling approach, there aren’t many things in common.
In the case of the Blazer SS, there are a few more exlusive details. As a performance-oriented model, this crossover comes with a couple of further upgrades, such as a tuned suspension, bigger wheels with lower-profile tires, exclusive styling details and many more.
Interior
If we can judge by photos, it looks like Chevy did a really good job with the new cabin design. It looks way more upscale compared to what we’ve used to see in Chevy models. The dashboard looks way more upscale and one of the reasons may lay in a large number of tech features. Of course, the massive 17.2-inch touchscreen is one of the highlights, along with the digital instrument cluster. This aspect of the interior even brings a bit of a Lexus vibe, while there are also Blazer’s recognizable details, such as round air vents and similar things.
The overall quality looks pretty impressive, while we also expect to see a couple of exlusive details. For example, we might see a couple of “SS” badges, including seat stitching, as well as unique color schemes. When it comes to the interior space, keep in mind that this model will feature a significantly longer wheelbase than the gasoline-powered version (more than Traverse), so the comfort should also be on a much higher level.
2024 Chevy Blazer SS Release Date and Price
The latest reports suggest that the 2024 Chevy Blazer SS will arrive the next summer. We expect that the price will go around 66.000 dollars. On the other hand, base models should go around 45.000 dollars.
