Lincoln’s biggest crossover has been around for a couple of years and it already established a pretty good position on the market. Therefore, the company won’t bother with bigger updates yet and the 2023 Lincoln Aviator will carry on without bigger updates. We are about to see just a couple of small novelties, in terms of new optional packages for certain trim levels. Other than that, things will remain the same.
That means that you may count on a familiar design, which has a lot of good things to offer. We like the Aviator’s spacious cabin and elegant interior design. Also, the list of standard and available equipment is pretty long, while the powertrain feels pretty capable. On the other hand, the biggest complaints go to the third row of seats, which would use more space. Furthermore, the optional hybrid powertrain isn’t particularly fuel-efficient.
Considering that there are no significant changes to come, we expect that the 2023 Lincoln Aviator will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Lincoln Aviator Design
As we’ve just mentioned, this is still a pretty fresh model, so there is no need for bigger updates at the moment. We are about to see a familiar design, though the company has prepared some interesting novelties for the Black Label trim. This trim level will be available with the Jet package, which has been available in higher trim levels so far. Also, you may count on the new New Black Label Special Edition Luxe package with a black roof.
On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle definitely won’t change. This crossover rides on the same CD6 platform as the Ford Explorer and shares a lot of parts. Of course, we are talking about the RWD layout, which is one of the biggest advantages over rivals like the Cadillac XT6. The Aviator is smooth and comfortable, but the level of athleticism isn’t particularly high.
The cabin design of the Aviator will also continue in the same way, which is a great thing. This interior looks very elegant, thanks to the massive use of high-quality materials and some classic design solutions. The dashboard features a clean and simple design, complemented by super-nice materials and nice color schemes. Furthermore, all those tech features make the cabin look even more upscale.
Besides the elegant look, this cabin is also spacious and very comfortable. The sound insulation is very good, while the front seats are massive and supportive. The driver’s seat is highly adjustable, so it’s pretty easy to find a good driving position. The second row also accommodates adults with ease, which is no wonder considering that it offers more than 40 inches of legroom. On the other hand, the third row isn’t all that generous and offers less than 30 inches of legroom. It is great for kids but doesn’t seem all that great for adult passengers.
The cargo area is also pretty generous with space. You may count on 18.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind its third-row seats, 41.8 cubic feet with these seats folded, and 77.7 cubic feet of the total cargo space. Those are some of the best ratings in the class.
We don’t believe that the 2023 Lincoln Aviator could come with bigger changes in this aspect. We are about to see a pretty similar list of standard and available equipment to the current model. The current model comes standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, push-button start, remote start, keyless entry, a 10.1-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, a 10-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, four USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
Among optional features, you can find goodies like navigation, HD Radio, wireless device charging, a 14- or 28-speaker Revel sound system, a rear-seat entertainment system with two 10-inch displays, quad-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, rear sunshades, ambient lighting, and a digital key.
2023 Lincoln Aviator Engines
Things under the hood will also continue in the same way. So, base models will continue with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out around 400 horsepower. That’s plenty enough for great driving dynamics. The Aviator moves with ease and the ride feels pretty refined. The 10-speed automatic also does a very good job.
If you’re up for something more capable, you can opt for the plug-in hybrid version. That model uses the same engine but gets help from a single electric motor. The total output goes up to 494 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque. Also, this version provides around 21 miles of the all-electric range.
2023 Lincoln Aviator Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2023 Lincoln Aviator sometime in the last quarter of the year, with the starting price of around 52.000 dollars.
