The iconic SUV marches on as arguably the most capable off-roader on the market. The current generation of this genuine BoF SUV has been around since 2018 and the 2023 Jeep Wrangler continues with a familiar design. However, the company brings several interesting, smaller-scale novelties, in terms of the new special edition, new color options and wheels designs. On the other hand, the overall layout remains the same, so you may count on familiar design characteristics and features.

Of course, this is primarily an excellent off-roader, but the Wrangler has many more things to offer, starting from a wide range of powertrain options, intuitive infotainment system, spacious cargo area in the four-door model etc. On the other hand, the main complaints go to unrefined on-road ride and poor fuel economy.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is expected to hit the market this fall, without bigger price changes.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will remain mostly the same, but we will see a couple of interesting novelties as well. One of the biggest addition is the new Freedom Edition, which brings a couple of off-road upgrades, but it is mostly about visual upgrades. Speaking of the visual upgrades, the company will introduce a couple of new color options – Earl and Reign. Another notable novelty is the addition of new wheels design for the Rubicon model.

The overall layout won’t change and the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will continue to offer excellent off-road performance. Base models come with part-time four-wheel drive, while you can also opt for a full-time 4WD and many other off-road features, such as locking differentials, suspension upgrades, skid plates and many more. The Wrangler features solid axles on both ends, which may not be the best solution regarding comfort and ride quality but on the other hand, you may count on impressive rigidity and durability.

Interior

On the inside, the Wrangler continues in the same way, with a familiar cabin layout. The thing with this SUV is that it features a pretty good interior, with nice materials and solid build quality. The dash looks attractive and also comes with lots of tech features in higher trim levels. Base models, though, lack modern features and come with essentials only.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Interior

Just like the previous model years, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will continue in two cab layout. Base models will continue with a 2-door design and short wheelbase. Such a design is great for off-roading but the amount of passenger space in the second row isn’t great. The cargo area also offers pretty modest numbers. You may count on 12.9 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 31.7 cubic feet of the overall cargo volume.

On the other hand, the 4-door model offers way more legroom, as well as pretty respectable cargo volume. You may count on 31.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind its rear seats and 72.4 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.

Features

Base models come with essentials only. You may count on a 5-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. Also, air-conditioning is now part of standard equipment in two-door models.

On the other hand, the list of available features is pretty long. You can get goodies like a 7-inch or an 8.4-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, HD Radio, satellite radio, a nine-speaker stereo, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 120-volt household-style power outlet, and extra USB ports, automatic climate control, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, proximity keyless entry, and remote start.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Engines

Under the hood, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will continue with a wide array of powertrain options. This SUV comes standard with a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which puts out around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, which seems quite adequate for an SUV like this. If you’re up for something more efficient, there is a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Speaking of efficiency, a turbodiesel version is the best choice by far. That model uses a 3.0-liter V6, which puts out 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

The Wrangler is also available in a plug-in hybrid version, with a system that’s based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. The combined output goes around 375 horsepower, while the system also includes a 17.3-kWh battery pack, which ensures 21 miles of the all-electric range.

Finally, there is the 6.4-liter V8, reserved for the Rubicon 392, with a max output of 470 horsepower.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will hit the market this fall, with a starting price of $30.000 for the two-door model and $33.000 for the four-door model. The competition remains the same and it is mostly about the recently-revived Ford Bronco, as well as about Toyota 4Runner.
