The Grand Wagoneer has been resurrected and compared to the previous iteration, which have been active decades ago, the new model is way more upscale and way more luxurious. The last year’s launch has brought a completely new design, with all kinds of interesting design and tech solutions but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have what to expect from the second production year in terms of novelties. We are about to see a lot of new things for the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which will make this SUV even more competitive in the luxury SUV segment.
The next year’s model will bring a new version with a longer wheelbase. That model will come with the L moniker and it will also feature the company’s new engine. That’s the new Hurricane inline-six, which should significantly improve efficiency. Still, the overall design will remain the same, despite the updates, so we once again expect to see a capable SUV, which offers a high level of comfort, spacious cabin, luxurious interior, great towing capacity and many more.
The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer should hit the market this fall.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Design
Design-wise, the biggest novelty for the next year is the stretched version. This model will feature 130 inches in wheelbase, which is 7 inches more than the standard version. Of course, it will grow in the overall length as well, which should provide more space inside the cabin and improve functionality even more.
Other than that, the stretched version shouldn’t be much different than the standard model. The styling will be the same, as well as the chassis and suspension setup. This is a body-on-frame SUV, but it features a very refined suspension setup, which ensures a smooth and comfortable ride. At the same time, you may count on class-leading towing capacity, which goes around 9.800 pounds.
The standard model will continue in the same way when it comes to interior design. On the other hand, the stretched version will bring further benefits in terms of space and functionality. Thanks to the bigger dimensions, the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L will offer more cargo room. You may count on 44.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 88.8 cubic feet behind the second and 130.9 cubic feet behind the first row of seats. For comparison, the standard model is good for about 27.4 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seats and 70.9 cubic feet behind the second row. Max capacity checks in at 116.7 cubic feet of the total cargo volume.
The dashboard design will be the same in both models. This SUV features a very luxurious cabin design, with an attractive dashboard that also utilizes high-quality materials and lots of tech features.
Since we are talking about the second production year, it’s hard to expect bigger changes in this aspect. The Grand Wagoneer L shouldn’t be much different either. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like a 12-inch touch screen, navigation, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, HD Radio, satellite radio, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa (including Fire TV), wireless device charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay etc. The list of standard equipment will also include goodies like a tri-pane panoramic sunroof, quad-zone automatic climate control, remote start, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 10.25-inch display in the second-row console.
Among available features, expect to find an interactive front passenger display, a 23-speaker McIntosh audio system, and a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system.
The list of standard safety features should include things like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, and head-up display, surround-view camera, parallel and perpendicular park assist and more.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Engines
The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is also coming with a big novelty under the hood. The highly anticipated Hurricane will finally debut. This engine features 3.0 liters in displacement and inline-six configuration, with a max output of 500 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
On the other hand, it is still unclear whether the standard version is also about to get this engine, or if it will continue with the V8. The current model comes with a 6.4-liter HEMI engine, which puts out 471 horsepower. It’s a highly capable engine, but also a very thirsty engine, which returns no more than 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer this fall. The starting price should go around 88.000 dollars, while the price for the long-wheelbase version is yet to be announced. Key competitors are models like Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade.
