Although the current generation of Cadillac’s flagship SUV has been around for less than two years, the company decided to bring big novelties already. The novelty comes in a pretty hot form, as the most powerful Escalade ever made. Yes, we are talking about the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V, which will come with a super-capable supercharged V8 engine, along with various other upgrades, including suspension, brakes, styling etc.
On the other hand, standard models will continue in the same way. We are about to see the same overall layout, which is all about quality. This SUV is impressive from the inside, whether it’s about interior quality or space. Also, we like its comfortable and composed handling, while the list of standard equipment is very long. Of course, there is the matter of GM’s well-known V8 engine, which makes some pretty impressive notes. For those economy-oriented, Cadillac even offers a diesel version of its SUV.
We expect to see the 2023 Cadillac Escalade sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Cadillac Escalade-V
Without any doubt, this will be the biggest novelty for the next year. All those rumors we’ve been hearing in the last few years turned out to be true. This model comes as a high-performance SUV and from what we can see, upgrades are in various aspects.
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the engine. This version will use a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. From what we know, the max output will go up to 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque. The 10-speed transmission will be modified as well, and the new system should provide 0-60 sprint in just 4.4 seconds, according to the manufacturer.
Besides plenty of power, the Escalade-V will come with upgraded suspension, lower ground clearance, bigger brakes and many other exclusive features. Of course, a couple of exclusive styling details are there as well, which accentuate the model’s high-performance character.
Interestingly, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade will be offered in the long-wheelbase version as well.
2023 Cadillac Escalade Design
On the other hand, the rest of the lineup will continue in the same way. You may count on the same design that was introduced in 2021, which is based on the T1 platform and has a lot of amazing things to offer. Besides the muscular exterior design, this SUV is also very comfortable. Of course, that’s the result of many things, including the independent rear suspension, which is part of the standard equipment.
The independent rear suspension is also the reason for the biggest cargo area in the class. The standard-wheelbase model offers around 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 72.9 cubic feet with the third-row seats folded down, and 121 cubic feet of the total cargo volume. The long-wheelbase versions offer even more – 41.5 cubic feet behind the third row, 94.1 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 142.8 cubic feet.
Besides plenty of space, the cabin also offers excellent build quality. The materials are nice, there is a lot of attention to detail, and the amount of tech features is impressive.
We don’t expect bigger changes in this aspect, at least among standard versions. Therefore, all models should come standard with goodies like a 7.2-inch digital control panel, a 14.2-inch digital gauge cluster, a 16.9-inch touch screen, navigation, a 19-speaker AKG Studio stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, tri-zone climate control, remote start etc.
Among upgrades, expect to find things like a center console refrigerator, panoramic sunroof, a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference stereo, and a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens.
Other than the new 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V, which will come with a powerful supercharged V8, the rest of the engine lineup will remain the same. Therefore, standard models will continue with a good-old 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8, which puts out around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to move this large SUV with ease.
For those who care about fuel economy, there is a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel, which puts out around 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Besides decent driving dynamics, this engine also provides excellent fuel economy, which goes around 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.
Both engines come coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Cadillac Escalade Release Date and Price

The new Escalade-V will cost around 150.000 dollars. The competition remains the same, with models like Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Mercedes-Benz GLS Class etc.
